Skyscraper

Authors Note: This piece should be graded towards my goals, catorgorized in the "write an original piece each week" section.

You can tear me down
You can hurt me
You can rip my gown, you can steal my crown.
But I will rise

I will rise from the ground
Like a skyscraper
You think I’m lost, but I found
That I’m not alone

I walk this long dreary path
Looking for a reason to exist
You hurt me and I’m scared to face your wrath
a reason to fear you

Catching tear drops in my hand
I realize that I’m no longer afraid
I’m a skyscraper, you wouldn’t understand
For you never cared about me.

I will rise
Go on and try to tear me down
But I will be risen to the skies
Like a skyscraper

  1. I really liked how you set a scene that I could picture in my head. There really is not anything major that needs work, considering it is a poem. How you explained in detail was very well.
